Pickerelweed
The pickerelweed is 10dm high and it's an herb.  The leaves are heart shaped, and they are 18cm long.  They bloom from June through August, and they are very spikey.  Pickerelweed is violet and blue. One species is white.The flower itself is 8mm long and funnel shaped with a 3-lobed upper lip.  Some pickerelweed is marked with 2 yellow spots. Pickerelweed is found in shallow water, rarely more the 3 feet deep.  It's found in marshes, bogs, margins of lakeside and streams, and the back waters of the Mississippi. Deer eat these plants.
