The Marsh Marigold
By Kaila W.

The Marsh Marigold is related to the buttercup family. It has golden yellow petals and green heart-like shaped leaves. This flower only blooms in April and May. In the winter the Marigold dies, and it's one of the first to bloom in the summer. It lives all summer long.
You can find the Marigold in sedge meadows, fresh wet meadows, hardwood swamps, shrub swamps, shallow marshes, and along stream banks.
The marsh marigold is an herb. People use it to put in food, and they use it for decoration.
This flower needs sunlight and a lot of water to survive.
