Cedar Tree Commonly found close to springs.
*Cedar wood ROT-RESISTANT used for fences, shingles,roofing,and siding.NEEDLES- needle like scales pointed 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch in pairs, flat and pressed closely to the twig. Dark yellow- green in color.
CONES-1/2 inch long with 8 to 12 thin brown scales opening when ripe. The brown cones stay on the tree over winter.
BARK-Thin, reddish-brown, shreddy, forming narrow ridges and shallow furrows on old trunks.
USES-The wood is very light, soft, and brittle.
It works really good for poles, posts, shingles,
canoe, and boat building.
This is a real cedar tree!!!!
