Mississippi River

The Mississippi River is the longest river in the United States. It flows 2,348 miles. The river reaches its widest point at about 4,500 feet 370 at Cairo,Ill. The Mississippi River system empties over 640,000 cubic meters of water per second into the gulf. This discharge totals about 133 cubic kilometers of water per year.The Mississippi is a beautiful place.
