Family: Wood Sorrel

Species: Oxalidaceal

Habitat: Woods in Canada, northern edge of U.S. south in mts.

Growing Season: May to July - (spring and summer)

Plant Size: 3 or 4 inches high.

Significant Characteristics/Features for Identification: Clover like leaves and 5 petals with white or veined with pink.

Uses: A person can eat the leaves in salad, it also helps with some ailments.

Folklore: It was called a prayer plant because it folds up it's leaves like it praying.
