Family: Cashew, mango, sumacs.

Species: Rhus Radicans

Habitat: lawns, woods, roadsides.

Growing season: Summer - Nov.; Berries Aug. - Nov.

Plant size: 1-3 feet
Significant Characteristics / Features for identification: Poison Ivy  gives off  a sort of oil. When you touch it you will get a reaction.

Uses:  Poison Ivy, although is bad to touch, has it's uses such as: animals eat the berries and don't get affected by the poison. It is also a medicine for arthritis.

poison ivy leafComments:  If you have poison ivy, wash really good with  baking soda or use rubbing alcohol and cold water.  Don't burn poison ivy or smoke will go in your lungs and you'll get severe blisters in your throat.
